Investing in Haiti’s Future: Plastech Connects with Young Talent at Job Fair

On January 31st, 2024, Les Entreprises Plastech Haïti took part in the National Job Fair hosted at Hotel Montana, gathering dozens of leading companies and hundreds of young professionals eager to find career opportunities and connect with purpose-driven employers.

This participation was not just symbolic — it was strategic. Plastech’s presence at the fair was rooted in its long-standing commitment to job creation, professional development, and local empowerment. At a time when employment remains one of Haiti’s most pressing challenges, Plastech continues to play an active role in strengthening the labor market through industrial job opportunities.

A Space for Opportunity

Plastech’s booth, set up in collaboration with its hiring and HR teams, welcomed dozens of young Haitians throughout the day. Staff members conducted interviews, shared information about available positions across departments (production, logistics, quality control, administration), and explained how a career at Plastech is more than just a job — it’s a pathway to growth.

Attendees had the opportunity to submit their CVs, ask questions about workplace conditions, and learn about the company’s culture of training, inclusion, and internal promotion. In a space filled with corporate banners, Plastech stood out not only for its industrial impact — but for its human focus.

A Message to the Youth: You Belong in Industry

By participating in this initiative, Plastech aimed to break down barriers between young people and industrial careers. In Haiti, the manufacturing sector is often overlooked as a viable path for upward mobility. Yet, through its structured hiring practices, skill development programs, and fair employment policies, Plastech is building a new narrative: industry can be inclusive, dignified, and impactful.

This job fair was also an opportunity to reaffirm the company’s belief in gender equity and diversity in the workplace. Young women were encouraged to explore roles traditionally held by men — such as machine operators or quality inspectors — and to envision themselves growing within a company that values their contribution.

Building Tomorrow, One Hire at a Time

Plastech Haïti’s participation in the 2024 Job Fair is part of its broader social mission: to help build a stronger, more resilient Haitian economy by investing in people. Every recruitment is a step forward in that mission — and every young person given a chance is a potential change-maker.

As the company continues to grow, initiatives like these reinforce its role not just as a plastic goods manufacturer, but as a committed social actor shaping Haiti’s future from the inside out.
